Resume
If you are interested in me, here's my resume.
Interests
While majoring in Computer Science Games, I'm indeed some kind of a gamer. My favorite game series is Persona Series, and I also like the art of Octopath Traveler and Disco Elysium.
I'm currently playing Final Fantasy XIV. Please feel free to add me as your friend. My ID is Renya Kojima (NA-Primal-Lamia server).
Hideo Kojima (小島秀夫) is my favorite game director, and I was inspired by his belief that games should be another form to represent films, delivering emotions we couldn't provide in other media. (Yes, my Japanese last name is also inspired by him, while the first name is from 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim.)
Common Questions
- Why did you graduate from the University of Rochester in 1 year?
- No, I didn't. I transferred from the University of Rochester during my freshman year (actually during the pandemic) to the University of Southern California.
Interestingly, I spent my entire freshman year in China because of the pandemic. Thus I had never physically been to Rochester as a University of Rochester student.
But still, I'm grateful for my time at Rochester, with excellent professors and great friends by my side. I'm also thankful for the opportunity to transfer to USC, a great school with better opportunities in game development and computer science.
- Where did you learn LaTeX? What template are you using?
- I learned LaTeX from my friend, Qilin Ye. And the language itself quite resembles HTML, which I learned from USC ITP104.
- My setup: vim (with python3 support) + UltiSnips + LaTeX live preview + Skim pdf viewer. You can check out the details at Qilin Ye.
- As for beginners, I recommend using vim writing basic documents to familiarize yourself with the language and using Overleaf to learn more advanced features, finally using them back in vim.
- What do some parts of your notes mean? It does not make sense.
- Could just be typos! I made typos a lot. You might even find typos on this page. I'm using an incorrect typing gesture and trying to fix it currently. Please do not hesitate to point out any typos you find either in the comment or directly contact me.
